ABOUT THE FORT MOORE AND THE FISH AND WILDLIFE PROGRAM

Since 1918, Fort Moore, Ga, has served as the Home of the Infantry. Begining in 1940, Fort Knox, KY., served as the Home of the Armor. The Maneuver Center of Excellence transformation began as a result of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission's decision to consolidate a number of schools and installations to create "centers of excellence." Included in this transformation was the move of the Armor School from Fort Knox to Fort Moore. At the MCOE, those critical maneuver forces train as they fight - together! - and together they will win.

The Fish and Wildlife Program is responsible for managing the game and sport fish program on Fort Moore. This includes censusing and monitoring populations; publishing the hunting and fishing regulations; stocking, liming, fertilizing, and controlling weeds in fish ponds; planting wildlife openings; and other related activities.
